The Bumblebee Class will explore many things through play in a safe and loving environment. Each day, the children can explore the following classroom areas: Music, Blocks, Dramatic Play, Cognitive, Self-Help Art, Science, and Reading. Art is offered daily, as well as weekly cooking projects. The children are exposed to various cognitive concepts in Circle Time, and one day a month, our director takes over Circle Time for "Bible Time," where simple, positive Bible stories are told. On Wednesdays and Thursdays each week, we have music time with our music teacher, Mr. Jon. You can see a sample daily schedule below.

12:45-1:00		Potty / Hand Wash / Rest-Time Starts
2:30-2:45		Potty / Hand Wash
2:45-3:45		Outside Free Choice / Pick-up Time Starts (Snack offered from 2:45-3:30)
3:45-4:00		Story Time Inside

CURRICULUM UNITS:

Every year is different based on the interests of the children, however these are some of the units that we’ve covered: Health & Safety, Community Helpers, Space & Weather, Celebration of Cultures, Insects, Birds, Sea Life, and Summer Fun.

TEACHER PROFILES:

Rosa

My name is Rosa, and I am a teacher in the Bumblebee Class. I have been at Little Angels Preschool since 2010 and love being part of such an amazing school. I graduated from Santa Barbara High School and went straight to Santa Barbara City College, where I graduated with an AS degree in Early Childhood Development. I am also First Aid and CPR certified.

Katy

My name is Katy and I am a teacher in the Bumblebee Class. I've worked in a school setting since 2006 with preschool aged children up to second grade. I've enjoyed working with the different ages but enjoy the preschool years the most. I am so blessed to be part of LAPS and always look forward to being a part of a child's learning experience and growth. I am also First Aid and CPR certified.

Jessica

My name is Jessica, and I am the Assistant in the Bumblebee Class. I have taken Early Childhood Education Courses at SBCC, and worked with elementary age children for two years. I’m enjoying working with younger children at Little Angels. I am CPR and First Aid certified.
